Immediately after the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25 May 2018, Transsmart was successfully examined regarding the processes of processing of shipment and personal data of our customers and contacts. We did this, because we believe it is very important that all our contacts can trust us.

With each new customer and partner we sign a processing agreement. This agreement describes what we do with the personal data and shipment data and how we manage these now and in the future.
For example, the shipment data is only used by us to ensure that your shipment information is correctly and timely shared with carriers. No data is shared with external partners who do not play a role in this process.
In other words: when we sign this processing agreement together, you can rest assured that we take responsibility for data management on our side.

Data storage & security
During the period of our cooperation with customers and partners, we ensure that all data is securely stored. We do this in a Rackspace data center in Frankfurt, Germany. This is within the European Economic Area (EEA) and is therefore fully compliant with the GDPR requirements.
Thanks to the many certificates that Rackspace holds, you can be confident that everything concerning the data storage and security thereof is properly arranged. You can find all certifications on the Rackspace website: https://www.rackspace.com/en-nl/compliance/
Right to be forgotten
Just like any other company, Transsmart is also obliged to remove the personal data of people if requested. The standard data retention period at Transsmart is 12 months. Of course we have provided an easy way to deviate from this. We find this very important as the data you exchange with us is usually data from your customers. So it's mainly about their data and we are aware that this makes it extra sensitive.
Do you want Transsmart to delete certain information? No problem. Let us know what data it is and we will arrange this for you. You can submit your request via email@example.com.
Does it concern specific shipments? Then also send us the shipment references so that we can only delete the personal details of those shipments.
