B2B e-commerce seminar met Alibaba & Van de Velde
Last week Transsmart visited BeCommerce's seminar in Belgium. Alibaba Benelux and our customer Van de Velde (lingerie - with brands such as Prima Donna and Marie Jo) shared their knowledge and experience on business to business e-commerce.
After a warm welcome and introduction at the listed company Sioen Industries, keynote speaker Jack Peters from Alibaba Benelux took to the stage. He showed why Alibaba Benelux invests heavily in eight-way portals and e-commerce ecosystems in the Benelux trade line to China. The key words were stamina, small steps, but especially the strong growth of the Chinese middle class to about 500 million consumers who developed a strong interest in European quality products. Alibaba Benelux is currently investing heavily in its contacts with SME companies in the Benelux.
Then Transsmart's customer Van de Velde (lingerie) came with her vision of e-commerce developments. Jan van Wijnendaele showed how Van de Velde deals with e-commerce challenges in its core markets. 70% of women wear a wrong bra according to Van de Velde. That is why Van de Velde invests in special 'experience stores', with already 30 so-called "Lincherie" stores in just the Netherlands, where one can scan the body through a 3D mirror. Such a scan allows you to select much more suitable underwear in the future. It's great to see how innovative and groundbreaking Van de Velde deals with its e-commerce challenges!

Digital Proof of Delivery (POD) now possible via Transsmart
Do you recognize this? You need the POD of a shipment that has been delivered a while ago and you put in a request with your carrier. Sadly, the POD is no longer available, but the law and your customers expect a longer retention period. Transsmart developed a solution for you:
We get that you would like to be able to have access to your POD's for a longer period of time. That is why we developed a technique that allows us to request digital POD's from carriers, to save them and, possibly, to forward them to your ERP-system.
Interested in this functionality?
It is, of course, only possible to use this functionality when your carriers and your ERP-system support it. Please contact your Transsmart account manager to check what possibilities there are for you.
